I would venture that "The ...Rachel, thank you. I would venture that "The Lady Eve" is Sturges's most popular film and seems to be gaining in popularity all the time. I'm not quite such a big fan of it as some but it's certainly among my top five Sturges films. I'll be watching it again when TCM airs it in a few days. Your comment about the sweetness of "Sullivan's Travels" got me thinking about how no matter how acerbically Sturges satirizes in his films, there's never any meanness there.R. D. I especially liked your description of the final stretch of the film, which completely caught me off guard when I first saw it.
